At Juniper Architectural Design, we manage the entire planning application process on your behalf — from initial advice and design development through to submission and liaison with the local authority.

A planning application is the formal request required for building works such as extensions, loft conversions, new homes, or changes of use. We prepare all drawings, documentation, and supporting information to ensure compliance with local planning policies, and we coordinate any necessary consultants.

Most applications are determined within 8–10 weeks, and we keep you informed throughout while responding to council feedback to maximise approval success.

At Juniper Architectural Design, we guide you through the Building Regulations process to ensure your project is safe, compliant, and ready for construction.

Building Regulations set the UK’s technical standards for construction, covering areas such as structural safety, fire protection, insulation, ventilation, drainage, and accessibility. Approval is required for most works, including extensions, loft conversions, and structural alterations.

We prepare detailed construction drawings, submit applications to Building Control, coordinate consultants, and respond to technical queries. 

We also help clients meet their legal duties under the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations (CDM), which focus on health and safety throughout a project.

Where required, we can act as Principal Designer, managing and coordinating safety during the design stage, identifying risks, and ensuring contractors receive the necessary documentation — including pre-construction information and the final health and safety file.
